Cherry and Frank met at Grambling College as teenagers. They were married in Alexandria, LA during the late sixties. They immediately took up residence at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, where Frank was assigned as an Air Force Officer. Their home was nestled between Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean and they could easily walk to either one. Renee, Reneetheir first born, began her life there. Their son, Frank Jr, was born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, two years later. After spending four and a half years in Hawaii, they relocated to Redmond, Washington where Frank was assigned to the University of Washington in Seattle. Cherry began her first full-time employment, outside of the home, since marriage. She was the first African-American to be hired as an elementary school librarian in Redmond. It was here, near Lake Washington, Lake Sammamish and the Puget Sound, that their son,Brian, was born. Their last assignment was to Scott Air Force Base, where Frank retired from the Air Force. the Boudreaux Family continued to reside in Belleville, Illinois for approximately ten years. The next move was to Fountain Valley, California and finally to Laguna Beach where they retired. Frank and Cherry have five grandchildren, Frank III, Jordan Blake,Jillian Tyler, Gabrielle Olivia and Grant Anderson.
