100. Jean Baptiste HONORE-DESTREHAN
Jean Baptiste Honore Destrehan, b. 1768, in Iberville Parish, a Free Person Of Color, appears to be the male progenitor of the Louisiana Creole Honores. He married Felicite Gue (Gravier), 7 June 1789. Records show that Isdore Honore, who is believed to be Jean Batiste's son was commissioned as an officer as a F.P.O.C. to serve with Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans in 1815.
His son Francois (Sr.), b. 1789 married Celeste DeCuir, 1 Dec 1810. Their daughter, Celeste Honore b. 1824 married Celima Patin about 1844. Their son Benoit, b. 4 May 1853 married Josephine Dupot. Their son, Querens (Quarance) b. 3 Sep 1909 married Eula Gauthier,24 Dec 1940. Their eldest child, Cherry Ann, b. 24 Sep 1942, married Frank J Boudreaux, 19 jun 1967.
Joseph DeCuir made a donation to the "four" quadroon children of Francoise De Beaulieu Mulatresse Libre "in recognition of the good services the said Francoise Beaulieu Mulatesse Libre has lent me, and for the good friendship which I feel for the childern of the said Francoise." He gave each child one of his slaves, providing that in the case of the death of one of the children, the survivors would divide the donation among them. The Allain family traced its heritage to Francois Allain of Brittany, a French officer who was rewarded for his bravery by being made commandant of the Attakapas Post in Louisiana and subsequently became a plantation owner in Point Coupee.
